Mexico

In Puna Pajaros lies Ascension Bay, a wonderful fishing area. Schools of bonefish, permit, and tarpon are daily visitors. For access to the best areas of the bay, Casa Blanca Lodge is the way to go. The Bay has hidden lagoons and varied flats, which when combined with the fact that netting is prohibited and the land has had little development, makes for an angler’s dream.

For the best fishing in January to June, go to Isla Mujeres, an island off the Yucatan Peninsula. This is a very low-key place for anglers to experience top-flight sport fishing. Honduras

Venturing out to the gorgeous island of Roatan provides you with the ultimate escape from the cold back home. One of the oldest industries of the island, world-class fishing angler and charters can be found just about everywhere, along with local fishermen fishing the shoreline on a string.

Brus Laguna and the Bay Islands are also amazing places to spend a few hours. The Bay Islands being great for bonefishing right off the reef and deep-sea sport fishing to catch marlin while Brus Laguna is home to some massive tarpon.

Grenada
